Don Gray

Chief Data Officer S&P Global Ratings

Don Gray is Chief Data Officer (CDO) in the Ratings Operating Office and as CDO, Don will play a lead role in driving our Modern, Simple, Digital transformation; shaping the future of our data as an asset; and establishing our data science and artificial capabilities. In his new role, Don will work with the Ratings Operating Office to create value and innovate.

Don joined S&P Global Ratings from Cigna, where he was the Global Head of Enterprise Data Management with leadership responsibility for data trustworthiness, governance, reliability, consistency, strategy, and value creation.

Prior to Cigna, Don was the Deputy Head of Operations & Technology for Citibank NA. Don had previously served as the Global Head of Data Quality for Citi. In this role, he was the Senior Policy Officer for company-wide data quality and also the Data Management Risk Officer for Operations and Technology.

Don has also held executive re-engineering roles at Citi and in Bank of America where he built out new structured engineering capabilities that drove large-scale quality and productivity gains. In these assignments he delivered large-scale programs in a variety of front-, middle-, and back-office areas resulting in hundreds of millions hard dollar gains.

Prior to entering the financial services industry in 2001, Don held executive, general management, business development, and sales management roles in the computer industry.

Don holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
