Doug Bennett is the Senior Director of Strategic Business Intelligence and Analytics for Ashley Furniture. In this role, Doug has developed a team of analysts in the United States and India to serve the needs of the entire company- from planning, to manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail and eCommerce, as well as all support areas. In this capacity he has advanced the BI team’s focus from basic data and reporting to in-depth analytics, actionable insight and recommendations, and ultimately to holding business units accountable for performance. His team is leading Ashley’s transformation to a data-driven organization and improving data literacy in all areas of the business at all levels. He is passionate about building talent and has fostered a culture of accelerated learning where team members teach others new skills as they’re learned, with dedicated sessions for sharing knowledge.Prior to assuming his current role, Doug was Director of Retail Reporting with HomeStores where he was instrumental in devising new platforms for store operations and supply chain reporting and building Ashley Retail’s first macro-level forecasting model for annual sales projections. Prior to that, Doug was with Toys R Us for four years where he rapidly progressed through various analytics and financial planning positions. Doug received his MBA in Finance and Strategy from Simon Business School in 2011. A native of New York, he currently resides in Florida with his wife, Cate, and two furry feline friends Mowgli and Meeko. Outside of work, Doug enjoys swimming, beachcombing, video games, reading, and visiting Disneyworld.
